Located in Northern California, the Joby Aviation team has been steadily working toward our goal of providing safe, affordable, fully electric air transportation that is accessible to everyone. Imagine an air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly and quickly carries you over the congestion below, giving you back that time you’d otherwise spend sitting in traffic. Technology has advanced to the point where designing and operating an all-electric aircraft is completely viable. Our team has been discreetly designing and flight testing this vehicle and is looking for talented individuals to see it through certification and high rate production.

Responsibilities


• Establish assembly line processes and production setup for wire harness assembly
• Coordinate and steer the collective efforts of all wire harness production technicians
• Enforce area standards and safety protocols
• Improve area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvement
• Interface with area leadership and prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals
• Problem solve, troubleshoot and/or recommend opportunities to improve internal production for wire harness assembly
• Support organization efforts to minimize production interruptions
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications and type design
• Work with quality and engineering to disposition non-conforming harnesses to efficiently return them to conforming state and normal product flow
• Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing to wire harness production teams
• Shop floor experience on leading assembly lines
• Understanding of Workmanship Standards. IPC-620 and SAE AS50881
• Manufacturing & assembly knowledge to explain the component assembly procedure
• Knowledge on usage of special assembly tools, jigs and fixtures
• Knowledge of Ergonomic tools used on assembly floor and also the safety measures & precautions to be used
• Recommend and implement Poke-Yoke (Mistake or Error Proofing) method
• Basic knowledge on wire Harness & Schematic to create cables, routing etc.
• Good communication and presentation skill
• Team mentor and leadership skills and cross functional training

 

Required

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience or Associate’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.
• Knowledgeable in industry drawing standards and Specifications.
• Possess strong organizational, analytical and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to distinguish colors is required.
• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed (up to 10% travel)
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
