Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Daily driving transfer of parcel and freight between Joby’s Bay Area locations using box trucks, flatbeds and transit vans, ocassionally driving as far as 100 miles from origin.  
  • Interact with multiple dispatching and messaging interfaces to receive delivery insutructions and confirm delivery of transport requests. 
  • Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed. 
  • Complete and verify paperwork such as Packing Lists or Bill of Ladings for accuracy. 
  • Communicate in a timely manner with vendors, internal employees and dipsatch. 
  • Safely securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within and on the vehicle. 
  • Light rigging of heavy loads on 16-24' flatbed trucks.  
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles. 

Required

  • 5-10 years experience driving box trucks, flatbeds, delivery vehicles.  
  • Valid CA driver's license  
  • Ability to obtain Class A CA driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Age Requirement 25 or older per rental vehicle policies.
  • Physical strength and stamina, enough to lift 50 pounds occasionally. 
  • Pallet jack and forklift experience required. 
  • Strict attention to detail, collaborative work ethic and positive customer service mindset.  
  • Operating vehicles and heavy machinery safely. 
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Knowledge of and adherence to standard DOT truck safety and load regulations. 
  • The job is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. 

Desired

  • 10+ years in the supply chain/logistics industry, including driving, shipping/receiving, freight forwarding.  
  • Experience with ERP/Inventory management software tools. 
  • Career stability and dedication, demonstrated by multiple-year service to previous employers. 
  • Hazmat certifications.

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $21-$29hr.   The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
