Overview

As an MES Data Analyst at Joby Aviation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily manufacturing operations, contributing to the company's vision of saving a billion people an hour every day through electric-powered flight. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining system integrity, implementing enhancements, and providing user support to keep Joby's factories running efficiently. In this position, you will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and various internal stakeholders to drive the future of Joby Manufacturing and achieve unprecedented production scales in the aviation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing all aspects required for successful MES deployment, including architecting, modeling and setup, testing, troubleshooting, training setup and delivery, and ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Manage daily operations and provide rapid user support to technicians on the manufacturing line.
  • Working directly with our MES software provider to escalate critical issues and inform the roadmap of future enhancements.
  • Creating documentation such as user training, test cases and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the system configuration aligns with production needs
  • Ensure accurate and timely input of data into the MES to enable seamless production reporting and traceability
  • Identify areas for process improvement, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the MES environment
  • Provide training and ongoing support for staff using the MES system
  • Document functional processes (e.g., with Figma)

Required

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Over 4 years of proven experience in, and functional knowledge of, MES system(s) in a manufacturing environment, ION MES would be an advantage
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment

Desired

  • Familiarity with Ion by First Resonance or any modern MES platform
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing environments
  • Experience with systems integration and automation tools
  • Bachelor's degree and at least a year of product or project development experience

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $90,400-$120,500 per year salary. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
