Overview

A Composite Manufacturing Intern is needed for supporting the development of production processes as well as taking product design to production. This individual will support the production of composite assemblies and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement assembly processes for airframe hardware.
  • Provide production support to technicians and leads.
  • Document manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Disposition non-conforming parts, identify root cause, and implement corrective and/or preventive action to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Design shop aids and tooling to assist production.
  • Initiate and lead lean manufacturing process improvement projects.
  • Identify and assist in addressing manufacturing issues on the production floor.

Required

  • Required

    • A minimum of three (3) years progress towards BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering at an accredited university.
    • Computer Aided Design, 3D Modeling, and 2D drawing experience.
    • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret dimensions and tolerances.
    • Hands-on experience designing and building hardware (composites experience is a plus).

 

Desired

 

The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $22.00-31.00/hr.  Individual pay is determined by internship role, department, experience, job-related skills, and level of education.
