Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate, driven, entrepreneurial product manager to join our team to help develop aircraft roadmap involving technology development, business planning, manufacturing introduction and market launch through certification.  This role will place you in a high energy full creativity environment with top talents from various domains, where you will be inspired to share your years of experience along with providing extraordinary support to the team. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop product roadmap towards next generations by collaborating with cross functional stakeholders, that include executives, design, manufacturing, supply chain, maintenance, certification, business development, finance, air operations, and program management;
  • Build and refine sensitivity modeling, that will incorporate development plans from functional areas, use them to drive assessment efforts, support trade-offs, build consensus for strategic development;
  • Participate and drive various analysis efforts and tool development, that will involve should-cost, actual cost, and target projection then related initiatives alignment;
  • Assess priorities of product features, capabilities, and related efforts by collaborating with cross functional teams to identify primary goals, secondary objectives, estimated efforts; then establish product plan including milestones with program management team;
  • Ensure roadmap remains relevant and actionable, aligned across teams and company leadership

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or Business Development with focus on technology introduction, innovation or new product development with minimal 5 years professional experience
  • Able to handle high paced environments and comfortable with uncertainties, and ambiguities 
  • Equipped with grass root thinking, able to break down complex situation, turn questions into plans then drive solutions 
  • Strong data mindsets, action oriented, able to go out and find information by rolling up sleeves 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and executive presentation; good story telling skills
  • Travel across various Joby sites to collaborate with cross functional teams

Desired

  • Has completed or is pursuing a graduate degree
  • Familiar with Urban Air Mobility, eVTOL sector or renewable energy technologies
  • Has direct project experience with hardware development and introduction 

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $170,600 - $227,500/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
