We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.

Overview

Manage lamination work cell set up tasks, such as staging prepreg kits, preparing molds, replenishing consumables, maintaining clean work centers / hardware, and complete pre-lamination duties. This role enables composite hand layup technicians to focus exclusively on lamination workmanship, supporting takt time and part quality. 

Responsibilities

Work Cell Set Up / Material Handling: 

  • Stage all materials required for next-part build kit, tooling, hardware, and aids (including ports, TCs, pins, consumables, ect).  
  • Return empty bins / notify support teams of replenishment demand, if applicable restock point-of-use locations  

Administrative Tasks: 

  • Complete “Pre-Lamination Step” for production runs (kit thawing. Mold identification, laser set up) 
  • Check material in / out of the freezer  
  • Submit work stoppages (if applicable) 
  • Submit redlined (if applicable)  

Line Maintenance & Cleaning: 

  • Wipe down equipment and workstations between shifts or batches 
  • Maintain 4S+S and organization 
  • Maintain consumable min/max levels  

Communication & Team Support: 

  • Attend daily standups 
  • Respond quickly to technician requests (tools, parts, etc.) 

Required

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Work Shift Monday - Friday- 6:30am-4:30pm
  • Strong sense of time management and urgency 
  • Good organizational habits (5S, labeling, cleanliness) 
  • Light computer or barcode scanner proficiency 
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and walk the floor regularly 
  • Proactive communicator who works well with multiple stations 

Desired

The target base pay for this position is $18-$19hr + night shift differential. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
