Overview

The People Analytics Analyst plays a crucial role in helping Joby make data-driven decisions about its most valuable asset: its people. Reporting to the Talent Development & Analytics Lead, this individual is responsible for transforming raw people data into actionable insights that empower our leaders and People team. The core focus of this role is to develop scalable reporting, build insightful dashboards, fulfill ad-hoc analytics requests, and interpret trends across the team member lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills in data analysis and visualization and has a passion for telling stories with data to drive meaningful organizational change, while actively exploring and championing the use of advanced analytics and AI to shape the future of work at Joby.

Responsibilities

  • People Analytics Strategy: Build and evolve comprehensive people analytics strategies, defining core metrics and scalable approaches to drive insights across the team member lifecycle
  • Advanced Problem Solving: Apply first-principles thinking to tackle complex workforce challenges, structuring analyses that answer key business questions and influence executive decision-making
  • Dashboards & Data Architecture: Design dashboards using R/Python, PowerBI, SQL, Python, and/or Databricks to integrate and visualize people data across systems (ADP, Gem, iCIMS)
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner with People team and business leaders to identify talent trends, surface risks, and generate actionable insights across hiring, attrition, performance, and engagement
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, Data Science, and People Systems teams to ensure data integration, compliance, and governance while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical Leadership: Establish and maintain technical standards, and drive innovation through emerging analytics methodologies and AI/ML implementation

Required

  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in an analytics-focused role (e.g., people analytics, business intelligence, data analysis), with at least 3 years direct experience working with HR/people data and HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, ADP, iCIMS).
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Psychology, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with a business intelligence and data visualization tool, such as Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform statistical analysis and translate complex datasets into business insights.
  • A strong sense of curiosity and a proactive mindset toward learning and applying new technologies and analytical methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to present data and recommendations clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Desired

  • Advanced degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Databricks is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical programming languages such as R or Python for advanced or predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with the practical applications of generative AI tools to accelerate analytics workflows and insight generation.
  • Knowledge of survey design, workforce planning, or statistical modeling as applied to HR challenges.

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $110,400 -$193,200/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
