The Flight Technology and Operations Lead (FTOL) – Advanced Program(s) will be responsible for leading the path to successful commercial flight operations for a new product line, from early test operations through charting the regulatory path for airspace integration.
The FTOL must have substantial breadth and depth of experience and knowledge in UAS configurations and operations. Building on this foundation, they will work closely with Business Development, program, and department leadership to define system requirements, achieve the necessary approvals and certifications, and lead flight testing and entry-into-market operations. Initially serving as the technical lead, the FTOL will be responsible for quickly building out an operations team to support the early stages of the product life cycle. In parallel, they will be a primary stakeholder in the development of the concept of operations for new platforms and associated use cases.
This position must meet US export control compliance requirements, therefore a candidate must qualify as a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. “US Person” includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $173,700 - $231,600/yr The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
