Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Flight Test Fleet Scheduler to join the Joby Flight Test team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the daily, weekly, and long-term schedule for our flight test fleet and supporting crews. You will work closely with flight test engineers, test pilots, maintenance, and program stakeholders to ensure aircraft, crews, and resources are aligned with program priorities.

This position is central to keeping our flight test campaigns running smoothly—both at home and at deployed sites—ensuring efficient use of limited resources and enabling the safe and timely execution of test objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and publish the flight test fleet schedule (aircraft, pilots, flight test engineers, facilities, and support equipment).
  • Schedule flight test crews for both on-site and deployed test campaigns, ensuring proper staffing and rotation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to align aircraft and crew availability with test needs.
  • Track and update schedule changes in real-time, balancing competing priorities and dynamic test conditions.
  • Support test readiness reviews by ensuring required aircraft, crews, and resources are scheduled and confirmed.
  • Manage both short-term (daily/weekly) schedules and long-range planning to forecast fleet and crew needs.
  • Monitor utilization of fleet and personnel resources, identifying potential bottlenecks and proactively resolving conflicts.
  • Serve as the central point of communication for fleet and crew scheduling between program management, flight test leadership, and operations teams.
  • Support reporting and metrics on fleet utilization, crew scheduling, schedule adherence, and test execution efficiency.
  • Continuously improve scheduling processes and tools to enhance transparency and effectiveness.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in aviation, engineering, operations, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage complex, dynamic schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired

  • Experience in flight test operations, crew scheduling, fleet management, or aviation operations.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, flight operations, and aircraft maintenance practices.
  • Background in aerospace, aviation, or defense programs.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
