Overview

This Senior Maintenance Engineer role is focused on developing and implementing the comprehensive Maintenance Program for new aircraft projects. You will lead program strategies, conduct engineering analysis like MSG-3, and collaborate across design teams to ensure maintainability and achieve type certification.

Responsibilities

It is expected the person in this role will play a crucial role in the development of the Joby Maintenance Program.

  • Lead program strategies with internal and external stakeholders develop maintenance programs for new aircraft projects.
    Develop and improve processes to support initial type certification and recurring revisions to the maintenance program, including regulatory facing policies.
  • Work closely with other members of the design organization to ensure the design meets the needs of the maintenance team including feeding back field information into the design.
  • Coordinate for assigned chapters the different maintenance task types, including airworthiness limitations and recommended maintenance.
  • Conduct engineering analysis (MSG-3) to support maintenance program deliverables and determine appropriate maintenance tasks and intervals
  • Guide periphery efforts which impact maintenance including troubleshooting, MMEL, aircraft operational performance analysis and processes.
  • Carry out on-aircraft or near aircraft task validation activities.
  • Support knowledge transfer and development of junior team members.

Required

  • 8+ years experience of relevant industry experience; aircraft OEM, Military or airline.
  • 8+ years experience in aircraft maintenance including scheduled and unscheduled.
  • 8+ years of MSG-3 or equivalent maintenance program development.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance programs.
  • Ability to think creatively about the balance between operations and technical functions.
  • Proactive mindset, comfortable in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Desired

  • 10+ years of experience in aircraft OEM, military or airline.
  • 10+ experience in aircraft maintenance
  • 10+ years experience in MSG-3
  • Understanding of software-hardware maintenance interfaces.
  • Experience implementing a maintenance program for a new aircraft entry into service

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $135,100 - $180, 200/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
