The Facilities Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and operation of company facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment. This role performs a variety of maintenance tasks, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs. The Facilities Technician works independently on routine assignments and collaborates with team members and contractors on larger projects.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure
Complete work orders related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance
Assist with preventive maintenance activities to help ensure facility reliability
Conduct basic troubleshooting and report issues requiring specialized repairs
Maintain building interiors and exterior grounds in a clean, safe, and professional condition
Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, workstation setups, and facility reconfigurations
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and notify management when replenishment is required
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and other equipment after appropriate training
Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
Travel to secondary company locations as needed to support maintenance activities
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent trade experience
3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a related field
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair techniques
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and common maintenance equipment
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision
Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
Basic computer skills, including email and work order systems
Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or other material-handling equipment
Experience in commercial office, manufacturing, aviation, or industrial environments
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs or CMMS systems
OSHA 10 certification or other safety-related training
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $31-$37/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
