Joby Advanced Development designs, develops, and flight-tests novel aircraft using a software-first autonomy approach. We build and deploy autonomy, perception, planning, and radar systems across conventional, electric, and hydrogen-electric aircraft in both CTOL and VTOL configurations.

As a Program Manager in the Advanced Development group, you will directly support the J208 Program Lead in driving execution across multi-disciplinary engineering teams. You will take primary responsibility for tracking program budgets and schedule performance. In this role, you will work closely with engineering team members to map out schedule logic, identify critical path constraints, and resolve bottlenecks before they impact program milestones.

• Track, analyze, and report on J208 program schedule performance and budget health, maintaining accurate forecasting models across engineering workstreams
• Partner directly with engineering teams to map project dependencies, identify critical path activities, and proactively surface schedule bottlenecks
• Integrate with Finance to track program cost performance
• Devise solutions to complex schedule or resource constraints with limited precedent, adapting existing program management frameworks to maintain program momentum
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment across technical hardware, software, and test teams to ensure downstream impacts and interdependencies are understood and managed
• Share program management best practices, concepts, and reporting templates to improve operational efficiency within the Advanced Development team
• Manage project risk registers and actionable mitigation plans, regularly reviewing critical milestones with the Program Lead
• Synthesize conclusions, and recommendations from multiple sources to influence program direction and execution

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in program management, project engineering, or technical operations (or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience)
• Proven experience building and maintaining complex integrated master schedules (IMS) and tracking program budgets within technical, aerospace, or advanced hardware environments
• Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex engineering workflows to extract critical path items and resource constraints
• Strong communication skills with a track record of successfully working with cross-functional technical teams to resolve project blockers

This position must meet US export control compliance requirements, therefore a candidate must qualify as a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. “US Person” includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.

• Experience using modern enterprise program management and schedule tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet)
• Familiarity with aerospace development lifecycles, rapid prototyping, or flight test environments
• Hands-on background in budget forecasting and variance analysis for hardware development programs
• Experience in the development or utilization of military aviation systems

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $118,700 - $205,600/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
