Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.
Joby is seeking an experienced continuing airworthiness professional to serve as the UAE Continuing Airworthiness Manager and nominated post holder for the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) approved as part of Joby’s Air Operator Certificate under GCAA CAR-M Subpart G and Supplement S-1.CAMO. Reporting to the Accountable Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising all continuing airworthiness activities for the Joby S4 fleet in the UAE, ensuring that no aircraft flies unless it is airworthy and maintained in accordance with its approved maintenance program.
The post holder determines what maintenance is required and when; the CAR 145 Approved Maintenance Organization determines how it is performed. The role is deliberately independent of the maintenance organization: it owns the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME), the aircraft maintenance program, airworthiness directive and service bulletin control, defect and MEL management, and continuing airworthiness records, and it provides oversight of the maintenance the AMO performs.
The post holder is Joby’s primary continuing airworthiness interface with the GCAA and with Joby’s type certificate holder engineering teams in the United States. The ideal candidate combines rigorous regulatory discipline with the judgment needed to bring a new aircraft type into service safely.
Degree in aeronautical, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline or equivalent, or an aircraft maintenance license (GCAA CAR 66, EASA Part-66 or FAA A&P) supplemented by relevant further education.
Previous acceptance by the GCAA or another civil aviation authority as a CAMO nominated post holder or continuing airworthiness manager.
