The Mechanical Systems Certification Engineer will be responsible for certification aspects of some or all systems and equipment related to:
- Environmental controls Systems (ECS)
- Ice and rain protection
- Landing gear, wheels, brakes, and tires
- Doors and steps
- Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Actuation systems
- Seats
- Interiors
- Flammability Testing
- Cabin Safety
The successful candidate will play a key role in a small, fast-moving team responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of a robust, deterministic, and highly scalable software simulation framework. They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, data scientists, pilots, and other stakeholders to create and improve one of the highest fidelity flight simulators.
The role involves developing, testing and deploying embedded drivers and algorithms for the aircraft's energy storage and distribution system. This system is responsible for safely powering the aircraft, managing high voltage systems and providing energy estimates to the pilot and control system. The Systems Engineers will own the architecture, integration, and life-cycle success of a single or multiple aircraft systems, ranging from requirements management, development, certification, and entry into service. This role sits on the team responsible for the mechanical design of system electronics, which includes onboard computers, flight console, and aircraft controls.
