You will play an integral role in the development of Joby loads and aeroelasticity efforts. Responsibilities include contributing to in-house tools, computation of loads and flutter analyses, updating and validating aeroelastic modeling, and working with DERs and FAA representatives to certify Joby’s cutting-edge VTOL aircraft. The position requires a solid mathematical background, a detailed conceptual understanding of aircraft dynamics, and strong attention to detail. The applicant is expected to have experience with static and dynamic loads derivation for aircraft. Background in flutter analysis is also desired.

Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate engineer to join our Powertrain team in San Carlos, CA to support development of the environmental control system for the Joby S4. This individual would be responsible for designing HV and LV electronic housings, cooling components (fans, compressor, heat exchangers), aircraft vents and testing equipment. This role will involve design work starting at the conceptual level through full modeling and continue into manufacturing and testing.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Composite Tooling fabricator to join our team. Qualifying skills for the position includes , but is not limited to, detailing and preparing composite tooling master model surfaces for tooling prepreg and resin infusion layup processes. Applicant must be proficient in Hand lay up of dry fiber and prepreg materials and their associated methodologies. Your responsibilities will include building, detailing , sealing and releasing foam master model plugs in preparation for producing composite tooling. Additionally, you will take part in the preparation and assembly of steel and aluminum molds and fixturing.
